These burgers are truly to die for! If you are looking for something you can make in advance and freeze for a quick and easy weeknight dinner, check this recipe out! You can use ground chicken or ground turkey depending on your taste buds and can be cooked on an indoor or outdoor grill. If you find they are not binding well you can try adding some almond meal or bread crumbs to make them stick a little bit better and just be careful when molding the burgers to try and keep the avocado chunks in tact.
Chicken Avocado Burgers
- 1 pound ground chicken or ground turkey
- 1 large ripe avocado – cut into chunks
- 1 chopped clove of garlic
- 1 egg slightly beaten
- salt and pepper to taste
- If you want a little kick I like to add in a few red chilli flakes
- OPTION: Add about ⅓ cup almond meal as a binder or ⅓ cup bread crumbs if your ground chicken or turkey is considerably moist.
- Throw all ingredients to a large bowl and toss gently with hands
- Shape into desired size patties and grill them outside or inside
- eat them just on their own, throw them in a lettuce wrap with some yellow mustard, create burgers with whole wheat wraps or buns, or chop them up on top of a salad….the possibilities are endless!
